The Deans of the School of Business

Dr. Jim Wehrley, Dean of the Phillips School of Business at High Point University, is an Associate Professor of Business and holds the W. Roger Soles Chair of Management and Leadership.  He earned a B.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater, an M.B.A. from Baylor University, and a Ph.D. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech).  Dr. Wehrley holds special expertise in the field of business education and frequently employs sophisticated educational techniques and the newest technologies in the finance classes he teaches.

Dr. Stephanie O. Crofton is an Associate Professor of Economics and Associate Dean of the Phillips School of Business at High Point University.  She earned a B.A. from Converse College, South Carolina and a Ph.D. in economics with distinction from Auburn University, Alabama.  Her areas of specialization are labor economics and economic history.  Some of her past research includes the interaction of government regulation and labor earnings, customer discrimination, labor conditions in Medieval England, and how increases in the minimum wage affect high school dropout rates across ethnic groups.  She serves as Associate Editor of the academic journal Essays in Economic and Business History and has published in the Journal of Labor Research, The American Journal of Economics and Sociology, and Essays in Economic and Business History.
