The Management Information Systems (MIS) major focuses on preparing individuals to act in bridge-building roles. Bridge-building allows effective communication and coordination between technicians and non-technicians within an organization such that technology can be properly aligned with organizational goals. The major will expose students to such topics as electronic commerce, telecommunications, business intelligence activities, enterprise resource planning systems, systems development, project management and the management of the information technology function. The major prepares students for a variety of positions, to include information systems careers such as business analyst, project leader, e-business planner and information systems management.
